Daddy’s fishy friends are causing quite a stir. But they hardly seem anything special.
No wonder he tossed them out and started over.

Whose blood now cleanses from all sin and gives me victory.

Sam Winchester.
It was always going to be Sam and Dean; two souls born into bodies that would be our tools to mete out the Apocalypse.
Of every single decision that brought Sam into being— by countless generations, against the odds of his ancestors being alive; meeting; siring this precise son; that exact daughter…
Until his mother loved a man she would come to sell her soul for, and of that union— of the thousand million children competing for fertilization, it was only him that emerged.
To distill so specific a form from that chaos of improbability— no one will ever know the feeling of having a soul made for you; a body meant to hold the heartbeat of the brightest star.
With Sam, I am complete in this world. Without him, I am not.
It’s as simple as that.
Did you know that all angels have true vessels— ones more suitable than others? And we can always feel their soul calling.
With the Archangels it’s even more specific; a bond that transcends time.
Hello, Sam.
Lucifer hasn’t always been cold.
Before the Fall, he burned more brightly than any other angel in the Host (the origin of his pet-name).
The only cold an angel can ever experience is within the shadow outside of God’s love, and Lucifer was chained there for millions of years.
The Cage was never constructed with the burning glory of two Archangels in mind. The walls were fallible, the ceiling could crumble.
The Word of God didn’t utter the damned place into being; Michael did and, as such, he was intimate with the knowledge of it’s make-up. Lucifer, however, had been the only thing to ever have been inside.
When Death came to fetch Sam’s soul, a measure of their entertainment was taken away with him. Adam had long since broken under the weight of Angelic fury, and so they resigned ourselves to opposite corners.
Six centuries of blood and “I told you so’s” later, Michael went through his first true break— after having been knelt in prayer when they weren’t trying to destroy each other.
For the first time since the Fall, Lucifer and his brother found comfort in each others arms, and eventually. the force of their Grace joining jarred the Gate.
Michael was the one to force the doors open, urging Lucifer on while he held them with all his strength, resigned to his fate to forever be trapped inside.
Lucifer managed to snatch his brother through the door before it bolted shut, leaving the Cage empty once again.
He was gone from Lucifer’s side before the sun hit their faces.
Stull Cemetery was destroyed in sudden burst of electromagnetic activity. No one was ever able to explain the circumstance.
